Once the UK government has given formal notice of its intent to leave the EU, there will ensue intensive negotiations about the terms of withdrawal, and the UK’s future relationship with the EU. Nick Clegg’s experience of working in the European Commission, of leading trade talks there, and then of being a Member of the European Parliament make him uniquely well qualified to talk about the negotiations not just from a British perspective, but from how they will be viewed in the other 27 member states.
